What are roleplay Hytale servers?
Hytale roleplay servers are a different vibe entirely. You create a character — name, backstory, personality — and actually play as them. Join a faction with its own lore, get a job that fits your character, participate in server-wide storylines driven by player choices. It's part improv theater, part video game. Some Hytale RP servers go full medieval fantasy in Orbis, others run modern-day settings with cars, phones, and city life.
Never done RP before — will I fit in?
Every RPer started somewhere! Good servers have newbie guides and patient communities. Start with a simple character concept, stay in character during interactions, and you'll pick it up fast.
Do I have to voice act?
Nope, most Hytale RP is text-based. You type what your character says and does. Some servers have voice chat channels but they're usually optional for hanging out, not required for RP.
Roleplay vs RPG servers — what's the difference?
RPG servers focus on mechanical progression: classes, levels, stats, dungeons. Roleplay servers focus on storytelling: creating a character and acting as them. RPG is about your character's power growing; RP is about your character's story developing.
Serious RP vs casual RP — which should I pick?
Serious RP servers expect you to stay in character and follow lore rules strictly. Casual RP lets you break character, joke around, and be more relaxed. Newbies usually have an easier time on casual servers first.
